Does all NIKON AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G lens have VR?

No. Nikon makes 3 different models of 70-300mm lenses.

1. Nikon 70-300mm G - Inexpensive, all plastic lens. Won't autofocus on D40, D40x, D60, or D5000 cameras. I had one and it broke on me when a small plastic part inside snapped off.

2. Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 ED - Moderate priced lens with much better construction than #1 above. Also won't autofocus with the above cameras.

3. Nikon 70-300mm VR - Excellent lens with VR (vibration reduction). Has built-in af motor so it will autofocus with all AF Nikon bodies.

i dont know which lens to get for my dslr camera out of a sigma 70-300mm and a nikon 55-300mm?

i have got a nikon d5000 and i dont know which is the right lens for me i am doing out door action photography like soccer, rugby etc. also abit of indoor like volley ball. i also want to capture nature photos as well. but i dont know which one out of Nikkor Lens - AF-S DX 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR
and the Sigma Lens 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro . i like the macro feature about the sigma, but i like the viabration reduction about the nikon. please help also there is a suggnifficant price difference in the sigma being about $50 - $100 cheaper than the nikkor. although i trust the nikkor lens as it is not a 3rd pty seller i am fine with either one of the lenses i just want to know which one is right.

BUY NIKON 55-300mm, Nikon 55-300mm is sharp lens with excellent color and contrast and Significantly better than the Nikon 55-200mm VR.....
