how to clean panasonic camera lens image
Sagar
i have a Panasonic lumix dmc fz40 digital camera.there are a few fingerprint impressions on the lens cover(thats what i think it is). so my first question is: is it really a lens cover only or is it a part of the lens? secondly, Will it be suitable to use a microfibre cloth to clean the figerprint impressions on the lens/lens cover or should i use something else?
Answer
A microfibre cloth wil be ok for cleaning off fingerprints - just don't use any kind of solvent (even that designed for glasses). Be careful of rubbing the lens with a cloth if there is any kind of grit/sand on it though as it may scratch the lens - in that case, some kind of blower (rocket blower - sold in camera shops) is best.

Can i use nail polish to clean my panasonic lumix camera lense?

Answer
NO! NO! NOOO! Do not use nail polish remover to clean your lens, unless you want to destroy your camera!!
To clean your lens:
1) Use a blower to blow any loose debris off your lens.
2) Add some lens cleaning solution to a microfiber cloth (optical cleaning cloth) or exhale (don't spit!) onto the lens to put water vapor on the lens.
3) Use the microfiber cloth to wipe the lens in a circular motion.
A lens pen will also work--it has a special cleaning tip on it.
In the UK, go to jessops.com and then select accessories then cleaning supplies. You'll find plenty of cleaning kits. AND no nail polish remover!
