I'm Looking to buy a dSLR camera and i was wondering what aspects does the lens affect and what aspects does the body effect. for example ISO, aperture and shutter speed.

Answer
The lens focuses the image. A better lens will produce a sharper, less-distorted images. A fast lens will allow you to shoot more easily in dim light. 1.4 or 2.8 are fast lenses. 4.5 or 5.6 are slow lenses.

The body contains the sensor. A good sensor records highlights and shadows well, and doesn't have a lot of noise or color problems.

The body contains the hardware and software for processing the information from the sensor and turning into an electronic image. Better software produces sharper, cleaner images with better color.

I am looking for a good wide angle lens for my canon dslr camera. I plan to travel around and get landscape shots and need a good wide angle lens for the pictures! Sadly, I don't have a lot of money and am trying to stay under the 350 range. Does anybody know of any cheap but still good wide angle lens?

Answer
You want super wide angle or wide angle? because there is a difference between both.

Wide angle on full frame are 24mm, 35mm, 14mm, on aps-c they're more like 16mm, 17mm.

Tamron 17-50mm
Canon 16-35L
Canon 17-40L

super wide angle on aps-c are like

Sigma 10-20mm
Sigma 8-16mm
Tokina 11-16

As for your budget I don't know any lens that will fit your need, unless you buy low cost lens like vivitar and bower which I don't recommend, you can still try to find second hand lens but buying use material can bring up problems.

The best thing you should do is save up more money to get a lens like this

The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM cost around $480
