Is an olympus evolt e500 dslr a professional quality camera?

Answer
Not at all. The Olympus Evolt e500 is a nice novice DSLR that entered the market in 2005. Poor viewfinder, very little 3rd party lens support, and a dying DSLR line.

I checked on Adorama (a major online photo dealer) and found these numbers.

For Canon mount there were 363 lenses.
For Nikon mount there were 356 lenses.
For Sony mount there were 159 lenses.
For Pentax mount there were 152 lenses.

And for the Olympus mount? There were 59 lenses.

As for models of DSLRs available?
Canon (86)
Nikon (102)
Pentax (24)
Sony (35)
Olympus (4)

It's an poorly supported system using a 4/3 (undersized) sensor. A review reveals a camera that won't give good results above ISO 400. IMHO, that's a pretty crippled camera and one that far from Professional.

Can you use Minolta camera lens on any other camer with an adapter?

I had a minolta X-g1 camera, which was destroyed, and I several different lenses. can I use these leses with any other camera?

Answer
You can buy adapters to use your MC/MD mount Minolta lenses on the Olympus DSLR cameras, the Canon DSLR cameras and of course the Sony DSLR cameras.

Please note that you'll have to use stop-down metering as there is no meter coupling/connection between the MC/MD lenses and the modern DSLR bodies listed.
